GT1
Toyota’s final and most extreme effort of the 1990s to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It features a carbon-fibre chassis, advanced aerodynamics, and a 3.6-litre twin-turbo V8 derived from Toyota’s Group C racing programme. The car showed exceptional pace, taking pole in 1999, and only late-race misfortune prevented it from claiming victory. The GT-One remains a dramatic symbol of the final, no-limits era before hybridisation and manufacturer restrictions reshaped the sport.
